Default Better Trade OMG ORIGINAL!!!!111oneoneone

I've come up with an ultra-original idea that has never been thought of before! Make trade kiosks in Guild Wars!!!!111oneone

In outposts allow players to put a certain number of goods up for trade for set prices, and then afk and let people "shop" you and people in the area!!!

It's too bad no other games have tried and succeeded so thoroughly with this [[[original idea]]],

GW should capitalize on this ingenuity!

Gaile pretty much said no trade improvements. Pity as this would fix the economy in one shot.

I love the sarcasm. My god why didnt think of this idea before now?

You take an item into a shop, and let other people place bids on it. Thats totally amazing!! How did you think of that?

Realistically....

...if they did do a system like this, we would need some way of....

1) Recording who won the bid,
2) Storing all the other bids,
3) Taking money from the highest bidder,
4) Retrieving your won item from the shop,
5) Placing your bid into the shop,
6) Displaying all the items placed into that shop,
7) A way to organise and catergorise all the items placed,
8) A way to search for an item,
9) A way to see the item on your character before you buy it,
10) A way to display the stats of the item.
11) Returning cash to those who lost the bid,
12) Informing the player if he won,
13) Informing the player if he lost,
14) Informing the player who placed the item if anyone bought it,
15) etc, etc, etc

The more you think about how it would work, you realise the best way to do it, is how its been done already in other games (WoW).

But I dont think Anet want to rip-off WoW's trading system. And I wouldnt want them too either.

Unless they can think of a completely originaly way to do it, I dont want a WoW rip-off system in GWs.

Im not saying WoW's system isnt great, because it is. It works wonderfully, and its amazing. But if Anet cant do it in a fresh new way using shops and bids, then I say keep it how it is.

Plus the truth is, even if they did add a trading house system, you would still have people standing in towns spamming the local chat with <WTS> and <WTB>

They added the party system, which lets you post <wts> and <wtb> stuff. It may not be perfect, but the facility is there. But does anyone use it? No!!!

People would rather spam the local and trade channels, because they know they can your attention better. Trade house and auction houses wont remove that.

It doesnt have to be a bid. In other games you place the item(s) you want to sell in the shop window, set the price and click a button and the shop starts.
You can make a shop title so players can be guided thereby. YOu then go to sleep or do whatever else you want to.
When a player clicks on you he/she sees the contents of the shop and the price at which the merchandise is being offered for sale. If satisfied they buy, if not they move on. Simple.
In Lineage II there is a command whereby you can search shop titles for items you desire to buy.
Also it is possible to set up BUY shop for , say, crafting materials or rare materials at a certain quantity / price, limited to the amount available in your inventory.

Not necessarily. This must be done only when you want to be able to unbid, but I think that you can only bid. This way only the highest bidder is remembered for a single thing.

What for?

Most of your objections can be solved by simple and basic database operations so I don't see any problem in that.

The party system is rubbish. However, what the OP suggested, and also the idea of a trade house isnt. You put up an item in a trade facility and set the price, the first person that wants it buys it. Its a lot less hassle and a lot easier.

Gaile saying that they're not going to make any trade updates when this is being mentioned so many times just goes to show how little they care about the community.

So if Anet completely 100% ripped off WoW and added a WoWish auction house system you wouldnt mind?

You wouldnt feel cheated that they copied another game?

Would you not rather some originallity to the solution?

Personally, I dont want a WoW rip off trading system. Blizzard got it right, and they deserve to revil in it. But if Anet copies it straight out, then it makes Anet look bad.

It will cement this idea that WoW is better, if Anet completely copy it.

We need something original to sort out the trading issues.

Wow has not invented auction house. Auctions were here before wow so what's the problem. It's not about copying. Things you wrote here were basic operations that must be in good trading system. Wow made them, because they wanted a good trading system so why not making a good trading system here? Only becausw Wow already made it? Why trying forcibly to create something so much different and flawed? If it's the best we can get then why not? They will surely not rip everything from wow, only wow's auction house will be partly simillar to ANet's trading mechanism. They will surely not copy-paste it. You can not avoid the similarities because it's purpose is trading and in trading you can not do many things so surely there is a high probability it's already in wow. And it's not about that if GW is better or Wow is better. Surely each game is better in some ways. For some players is Wow better and for the others GW.

You can say that trading between two characters is wow like because you can trade money and equipment for what you want ... Your denying of auction house is absolutely incomprehensible. Change the name (Tradin Center), change the NPC (Xunlai), change the interface, add something, remove something, change the way you resolve trading ...

ok heres my idea to stop all the trading problems.

everyone sell ALL of their crap and give the gold to me.

to the OP

/maybe signed

Its a decent idea but would it actually cut down on the WTS WTB crap. I would hope so but I dont think Anets going to do anything to improve trade so i gues the point is moot.

Wow, this is totally unique, not.
There are many online RPGs who already have this.
There have also been many people who already suggested this!
OMG! I'm one of those people.

well i defintely love this idea, especially considering the boredom i get whe trying to sell the odd green...
also, if, for example, you had 15 shreaders talons, one could put all of them in he shop, and when a young lvl 15 assassin with 3k comes around, takes one, reduces it to 14. w/e, i dont make sense, all i know is this would be so great and helpfull

with love, cleo
